The City of Guthrie Center announced this week that residents should expect high gas bills for the month of January.

There are two primary negative factors impacting the high bills. These factors include: the extremely cold temperatures and the abnormally high price of gas on the spot market to cover those extremely cold days. Guthrie Center Municipal Utilities anticipates residents’ bills will show a spike in gas usage and pricing. Those needing extra time to pay their bills should call City Hall prior to the due date to set up payment arrangements. Payments are due by February 20th. Contact City Hall for more information.
