The Perry Bluejay football team will certainly recognize the majority of teams that they will face over the next two years as the Iowa High School Athletic Association revealed the new districts for Iowa’s four classes Thursday afternoon as first reported on KDLS. Perry has been assigned to Class 3A district 2 for the second straight time. Dallas Center Grimes, Webster City and Boone were all district rivals of Perry the past two seasons. All three teams posted winning records last year with DCG going 10-1, Webster City 8-2 and Boone 6-3. Joining the district for the next two years will be Raccoon River conference rival Carroll Public and North Central Iowa school Humboldt. The Tigers went 4-5 last year in the southwest Iowa district 7 while the Wildcats struggled to a 3-6 mark. Perry finished 2017 with a 4-5 overall mark.
With only six teams assigned to the district, Perry will now play four non-district games. Those opponents have yet to be determined.
