perry library

In case anyone missed the first Teen Social Saturday in December at the Perry Public Library, their next chance to attend is tomorrow morning.

Deputy Library Director Misty VonBehren organizes the young adult programs at the library, and she hosts the social event each month during the winter. She believes it’s a great way for Perry teens to come together and just be themselves. “The kids can come in and kind of get the cobwebs off of them. They can play the Wii, they can snack, they can play board games, they can make crafts. They can just chill in the large meeting room and just hang out with one another and be as loud as they want, and be as hokey as they want, and just do whatever. Just a space for them to kind of come and be teens!”

The event runs from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. tomorrow, though VonBehren says if there’s nothing else going on she’s okay if they stay until 5. There is no cost to attend and no registration is required. There will be one final Teen Social Saturday on February 24th. To learn more about this and other upcoming events, stop into the Perry library or call 515-465-3569.
