On Sunday the Knights of Columbus council from Stuart All Saints Catholic Church hosted their annual free-throw contest. Twenty-five youth from Stuart and surrounding communities gave it their best shot at the Jeff Pease Memorial Gymnasium at West Central Valley High School. Of the 25, there were 17 boys and eight girls across ten divisions.
The contest was open to those 9-14, with a division representing each age and gender. Each participant had 15 shots from the free-throw line, and those with the most successfully made baskets will advance to the district competition. The most successful shooter overall was 10-year-old Aurora Fasano from Redfield, who made 13 of 15. Dexter’s Kallin Nicholson was the best shot on the boys side, making 12 and winning the 11-year-old division.

The ten winners from qualifying divisions (five boys and five girls) will advance to the district competition on Sunday, February 11th in Stuart. That competition will include winners from council contests in Greenfield and Panora.
