Jefferson VFW HallLocal veteran organizations had to reschedule a recent fundraiser due to a sanitary sewer issue that has since been corrected.

A backed up sewer line caused a soup supper fundraiser at the Jefferson VFW Hall to be rescheduled. VFW Post Commander Don Ihnken spoke to the City Council at their meeting last week about the issue. Public Works Director Dave Morlan tells Raccoon Valley Radio there are two sewer lines by the VFW Hall and crews jetted both lines last week. The line that feeds into the VFW Hall had been clogged and after crews jetted the line, it appeared to be clear of any debris. Morlan adds crews were on scene for about an hour correcting the issue.

The Jefferson VFW, American Legion and the VFW Auxiliary have rescheduled their soup supper fundraiser to this Saturday, February 3rd from 5 to 7pm at the VFW Hall. It is a free-will donation meal with chili, chicken noodle soup, rolls, desserts and beverages will be served.
