A new daycare facility is being built in Jefferson.
Nicole Timmons is a second grade teacher with the Greene County School District, and will be running the Natural Wonders Learning Center with her mom Annette Foster, who is also an educator. The 3,800-square-foot facility will be located at 1512 Westwood Drive.
Timmons says the name of the facility fits their philosophy of providing a natural play-based environment for children from six-weeks-old to school-age. She adds that there will be a professional staff to work with the children, while also having a quality play-based curriculum and ample opportunities for children to learn and build in all areas of development.
Timmons tells Raccoon Valley Radio that she and her mother have always dreamed of working together because they share the same philosophy for early education, and they both have degrees for birth to third grade and special education. Timmons believes there is a great need for daycare support in the community, especially since she sees Greene County growing and younger families are moving in.
The anticipated opening date of Natural Wonders Learning Center is August 1st. To learn more, email Timmons at naturalwonders4kids@gmail.com.
