The Greene County Jazz Choir has a few performances coming up.

Director David Heupel says they will head to Kirkwood Community College on February 23rd and March 3rd for the Emmetsburg Invitational Jazz Choir Festival. Heupel notes that he tries to find places where they can get themselves ready for the Iowa Vocal Jazz Championships.

“We went to North Polk and Solon last year and thought we would try a couple of different ones. I haven’t been to Kirkwood . But I had heard about them from other directors. So I thought I would give those a try this year and maybe we’ll try something new next year.”

The jazz choir was previously scheduled to go to Cedar Rapids Washington today, but that was cancelled due to snow.

Heupel adds that his jazz choir recently received a Division I rating at the State Jazz Choir Festival on Monday.
