The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular budgeting session Thursday.
Guthrie County Fair Board President Grant Sheeder presented the 2019 county fair and 4-H fiscal year budgets. Sheeder would like to continue replacing current structures, including the Lions Club building, Art and Ag Hall, and Static building. He proposed moving $2,100 from the 4-H fund to capital improvements, as well as a three-year, $5,000 per year increase to that same capital improvement fund. The Board was concerned that 4-H might not have enough funds after the reduction, however they approved the request.
The Board then reviewed public health, environmental health, and transfer station budgets. Discussions centered primarily around salary adjustments and how to best serve participating counties in the Environmental Health 28E agreements. The Board then entered into a closed session with Mike Galloway of Ahlers & Cooney P.C. to discuss a collective bargaining agreement between the Secondary Roads Department and Teamsters Local Union Number 238. The meeting concluded with a discussion on the 2019 airport commission fiscal budget.
