Thursday, February 8th
9:36am: An officer assisted EMS with a Medical Call in the 600 Block of West Monroe Street.
12:36pm: Officers investigated a Two Vehicle Personal Injury Accident at North Elm and Central Ave. A 2010 Ford Escape, owned and operated by Esther Knapp of Jefferson, left the posted stop sign on Central Avenue. Knapp entered Elm Street from the west in front of a southbound vehicle. The 2014 Hyundai Elantra was owned and operated by Haven Van Huesen of Farnhamville. The vehicles collided and came to rest on the southwest corner of the intersection. A fire hydrant was hit and destroyed as the Van Huesen vehicle left the roadway. The Knapp vehicle had $3000.00 in reported damage. The Van Huesen vehicle had a reported $5000.00 in damages. The hydrant is estimated at $1200.00 to replace. Knapp was cited for, “Fail to Obey Stop Sign.”
2:08pm: Officers assisted a resident in the 600 Block of South Oak Street, who had locked themselves out of the residence. The officers were able to gain entry to the home.
3:32pm: An officer investigated a Backing Accident in the 300 Block of South Vine Street. A 2014 Buick Enclave, owned and operated by Pamela Thomsen of Jefferson, was backing from a parking spot on the west side of the street. Thomsen did not see an approaching vehicle and backed into it. The 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche was owned and operated by Christine Durlam of Jefferson. Both vehicles had light damage reported at $300.00 to repair. Thomsen was cited for, “Unsafe Backing Upon Highway.
5:08pm: Brian Hazlicek reported his dog jumped out of his truck in the 200 Block of West McKinley Street. The office was unsuccessful in locating the black lab I the area.
