Greene County SheriffA Jefferson teen suffered minor injuries after hitting a bridge Thursday.

Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams tells Raccoon Valley Radio he investigated the single vehicle crash on 235th Street near S Avenue at 4:32pm. Nineteen-year-old Kara Schroeder lost control of her 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix and hit the center of the bridge and then the vehicle collided with the guardrail. Williams says Schroeder suffered minor injuries from the seatbelt she was wearing at the time of the wreck.

The Grand Prix was considered to be a total loss and there was $3,500 in damages to the bridge guardrail, which Williams adds is maintained by the Greene County Engineer’s office.
