Sophomore Molly Lutmer scored 22 points to lead Perry past Bondurant Farrar 52 to 46 in Raccoon River conference action Friday night.  Lutmer finished with four 3-pointers while senior Alyssa Kruger added a season high four 3’s as well.  Kruger hit three early trifectas to push Perry out to a 14-3 first quarter lead.  Bondurant Farrar rallied in the final two minutes of the second quarter to take the lead at halftime 26-25.  It would be their only lead of the night.  The Jayettes responded with a strong third quarter led by Lutmer’s 10 points in the period.

“I was really proud of the way the girls responded after halftime.  We told them that this was our game and that we need to keep playing our game and stay aggressive,” added head coach Chris Morrow.

Perry outscored BF 21-5 in the third quarter.

Kruger finished with 12 points while Grace Stewart added 10.

Perry improves to 3-18 and 1-13 in RRC play while Bondurant falls to 7-14 and 3-11.  The two teams will meet again Wednesday night in the first round of regionals.

Perry celebrated three seniors on the night with Kruger and Stewart joined by Isabel Saemisch.

“We’ve had a lot of great memories through the years,” smiled Saemisch.  “I’ve been playing with them since 3rd or 4th grade.  It really hit before the game that this was going to be our last home game together.  I’m so happy that we have this to remember.”
