Tuesday, February 13th

8:05am: An officer investigated a Two Vehicle Property Damage Accident in the 500 Block of North Elm Street. A 2007 Jeep Commander, owned by Chad Cummings and operated by Mina Cummings of Jefferson, was northbound in the 500 Block of North Elm. The vehicle in front of Cummings stopped to turn into Casey’s and Cummings struck the rear of the vehicle. The 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix is owned and was operated by Zachary Wiggins of Jefferson. Both vehicles suffered light damage. Both estimated at $500.00 to repair. Cummings was cited for, “Fail to Maintain Control.”

11:48am: Officers located a vehicle stuck in the snow in the 300 Block of West Head Street. The officers were able to push the vehicle free from the snowbank.

5:06pm: Lori Finley reported a stray dog at 701 North Cedar Lot 32. The animal’s owner was on scene when the officer arrived. The owner was given a time period to bring the animal into compliance with city licensing ordinance.

******** During an arrest at 806 West Monroe Street on 01/29/2018, suspected narcotic items were seized for lab testing. Positive lab results are back on the items and the officer has requested Arrest Warrants. Warrants are requested for Zachary Allen Waters, 21 of Jefferson for, “Possession of Controlled Substance/Marijuana 1st Offense – Serious and Possession Drug Paraphernalia – Simple.”
