The Dallas County Board of Supervisors convened Tuesday morning in regular session.
The first order of business was to set the time and date of two upcoming public hearings. The first was for a contract between the County Attorney’s Office and LexisNexis for electronic legal research services, while the second was for the Secondary Roads Department’s five-year road construction program. Both public hearings were scheduled for March 6, with the Attorney’s Office at 9:30 a.m., and the Roads Department at 10. Next, the Board approved resolutions relating to tax credit applications. The first disallowed agricultural land tax credits, the second approved family farm credits, and the third disallowed family farm credits.
That was followed by a review of the fiscal year 2018-19 County budget. The Supervisors approved publication of the budget, and set Monday, March 12 at 7 p.m. as the time and date for the public hearing to present the budget. Finally, the Board approved the appointments of 31 individuals, including six new members, to the Eminent Domain Compensation Commission. The meeting concluded with an informational workshop with the Human Resources Department.
