GCC-WinterThe Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday. Supervisor Mike Dickson updated the Board on the recent Iowa Governmental Health Care Plan (IGHCP) meeting. The members of IGHCP approved a change in health insurance plans. Guthrie County will change from Wellmark’s Alliance Select plan to Blue Cross Blue Shield’s Blue Choice plan. Dickson informed the Board there were some differences, but mostly minor in nature. However, the Blue Choice plan includes a required yearly physical.

The Board also approved a right-of-way purchase agreement of just over $20,000 for a bridge repair project near the intersection of Viola and 210th Street, north of Panora. The Board then approved a letter of support for the Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management Agency to apply for a Guthrie County Community Foundation grant. The grant would be used to purchase equipment for fire stations around the county.
