After losing three straight regional finals by a combined total of 12 points, the five seniors on this year’s Panorama Panthers girls basketball team (23-1 overall) will end their career competing in the Class 2A state tournament. The Panthers held their breath as Des Moines Christian freshman Moriah Prewitt saw her tying three miss as time expired, giving Panorama their first state tournament berth since 2013 with a 36-33 victory over the Lions. For Panther seniors Hope Wilderman, Devyn Kemble, Kellie Prince, Faith Powell, and Nicole Rolfes it’s their first-ever state tournament appearance despite posting a career varsity record of 88-12.

Panorama drew the No. 2 seed in the tournament thanks to No. 1 North Linn (23-1) falling in their regional final against Dike-New Hartford, 64-53, in Jesup on Monday. The Panthers state quarterfinal will be against North Union (20-2) at 11:45 a.m on Wednesday, February 28. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network will provide live play-by-play coverage of Panorama’s run in the Class 2A Girls State Basketball tournament.
