A reminder: tomorrow at Saylorville Lake, Dallas County Conservation will be co-hosting a free Eagle Watch event.
Dallas Conservation will be joining Polk County Conservation and the Army Corps of Engineers, and each will have their own viewing locations. Forest Park Museum Curator Pete Malmberg tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the Eagle Watches are always very popular events, especially when you consider how volatile the eagle population was in the recent past. The bald eagle population was in danger of extinction in the 1960’s, but thanks largely to conservation efforts throughout the United States, they’ve made a comeback.
The Eagle Watch will run tomorrow from noon – 4 p.m. No registration is required, and specific viewing locations and programming schedules will be available at the Saylorville Visitors’ Center.
