A former dentist from Stuart has been found not guilty of sex abuse charges.

According to court documents, 37-year-old Justin Hillock was acquitted in Clarke County District Court on Friday of two counts of third degree sexual abuse, Class C felonies, and two counts of indecent contact with a child, Class D felonies. He allegedly assaulted a 13-year-old girl several times in his rural Stuart home from September 2015 and February of 2016.

Hillock also faced similar accusations during his time at Guthrie Center Family Dentistry. Sources indicate he was placed on probation by the Iowa Dental Board in October of 2009. The Board received complaints that he made inappropriate comments and advances towards his patients. The Board ordered Hillock to pay a $5,000 civil fine and required a female staff member to supervise him during consultations with female patients.

The jury did not consider these complaints when reaching a verdict.
