Perry Fire 2-28

Emergency crews were called out early Wednesday morning for a reported apartment fire in downtown Perry.

At around 5 a.m., a call came in about a fire on the east side of the 1300 block of 2nd Street in one of the upstairs apartments. Firefighters fought the blaze for several hours, and managed to keep it from spreading to neighboring buildings. There is no word yet as to the cause of the fire, or if anyone was injured. The fire department was assisted at the scene by the Perry First Responders and the Perry Public Works Department.
