Greene County High School student-athletes Wade Adcock, Laurin Lyons, and Ben Wilkins, signed National Letters of Intent to further their academic and athletic careers at colleges in Iowa. A joint signing ceremony was held at Greene County high school’s theater yesterday afternoon.
Adcock signed to play basketball at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake. Lyons signed to play basketball at Marshalltown Community College, and Wilkins signed to play baseball at Wartburg College in Waverly. All three have been all-conference performers in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference for the Rams in their respective sports.
Mitch Moore is the Activities Director at Greene County, and he talked to Raccoon Valley Radio about the trio. “I think the really neat thing about this is all three are really good kids, really good students, and really good citizens. Obviously, since they’re going on to play sports in college, they’re pretty good athletes, too. It’s neat to see kids that do the right things on and off the field, succeed in the athletic realm.”
Tomorrow on our Sports Page, we’ll hear from the three recent signees.
