Dallas Co Supervisors 3-12

The Dallas County Board of Supervisors convened Tuesday morning in regular session, coming off Monday’s special session to approve the 2019 fiscal year budget.

The meeting started with consideration of vendor permits for dust control treatments on County-owned gravel roads. Assistant County Engineer Andy Case said there were three requests made by residents, and the locations and companies doing the treatment were the same as last year. Next, they continued a discussion from a meeting in February about an application to the Tyson Foods high quality jobs program. The wording of the application was cleaned up from the prior meeting, based on what the Board requested. Tyson is considering an expansion to its plant in Perry, which could fall under the tax increment financing area.

Finally, the Board considered a contract with TEAM Services Construction for testing and inspection services for the new law enforcement center. TEAM was the low bidder for the contract, and has already worked with the County on the project so they were someone the Board was comfortable with. The Supervisors approved each of the resolutions they were presented with at the meeting.
