Panorama-Panthers-Picture112The Panorama School Board met in regular session Monday. The meeting followed a work session on the District’s certified budget. Superintendent Shawn Holloway proposed a combined tax levy rate of about 13.6%, but no formal action was taken on the matter.

During the regular session the Board reviewed a second option to the proposed 2018-2019 school calendar. There were mixed comments on the calendar during the public hearing. The option would include: a three-day weekend for President’s Day, a three-day weekend for Easter break, a three-day spring break in early March, and an additional day at the end of the school year. The option failed, due to a lack of a second following the motion. The decision on the District’s master calendar was therefore tabled to the next meeting.

The Board also passed a resolution directing the sale of $2.28 million of general obligation bonds followed by a resolution authorizing the redemption of outstanding bonds from June 1, 2008. The Board then set the public hearing date for the certified budget for April 9th at 6pm. Other action items approved included: a teacher sharing agreement, an auditor contract, a track fundraiser proposal, and a trip request.
