An Adel native threw a five-inning perfect game over the weekend for the Des Moines Area Community College Bears softball team. Molly Jacobsen, a 2016 ADM alum, struck out all 15 batters she faced in DMACC’s 8-0 victory over Southeastern Community College of Beatrice, Nebraska on Sunday afternoon. Jacobsen needed only 57 pitches to record the impeccable feat, including 46 strikes. The performance landed Jacobsen her third Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Player of the Week honor of the spring. The Bears Softball program is currently the second-ranked team in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II poll, winning their first 14 games of the season. DMACC resumes their season today in southeast Iowa, playing two games against the Southeastern Community College Blackhawks in West Burlington.
