The deadline to file for candidacy for a Guthrie County office is Wednesday. The following offices open for the November general election include: Supervisor Districts 2-4, Recorder, Treasurer, and Attorney.
All incumbents for the open positions, with the exception of District Four Supervisor Tom Rutledge, have indicated their intent to seek re-election. The incumbents include: District Two Supervisor Clifford Carney, District Three Supervisor and current Board Chair Everett Grasty, Recorder Tristen Richard, Treasurer Marci Schreck, and Attorney Mary Benton. Rutledge has decided not to seek reelection.
All candidates must obtain and submit nomination papers by this Wednesday at 5pm. Candidates must also acquire a requisite number of signatures. Republican candidates for Supervisor must obtain eleven, while Democratic Candidates must have ten. Republican Candidates in all other open offices must have 49 signatures, while Democratic Candidates must have 27. Contact the Auditor’s Office for more information.
