A candidate for Iowa Governor visited Perry Friday evening.
Gubernatorial Candidate Fred Hubbell was hosted at the home of Alan and Monica Peitz. The Perry Area Democrats hosted the meet and greet, and the house was filled with people eager to learn about the candidate. Hubbell started off by talking about his background, which included work with Iowa Economic Development. He then went over his plan for if he’s elected, which includes repealing the privatization of Medicaid, providing more funding to schools, and tackling the state’s mental healthcare crisis. The attendees were then able to participate in a question and answer session with Hubbell, where they raised concerns ranging from the economy to immigration.
