A mainstay of the Class 2A boys state golf tournament in Iowa the last several springs has been the Panorama Panthers under the direction of Hal Rossow. The Panthers embark on a new chapter this spring as Rossow retired after the conclusion of last season and his volunteer assistant David Van Ahn has assumed the role as Panorama’s head boys golf coach. The Panthers and the rest of the Class 2A golf schools were issued postseason assignments earlier this month. Panorama’s journey to a hopeful return trip to state begins at the 5×80 golf course in Menlo on May 11. Should Panorama be one of the two lowest scoring teams or have a golfer place in the top three individually, they’ll qualify for the district tournament on May 18 at the Lake Panorama National Golf Course in Panora. The Panthers are coming off a third-place finish in last springs Class 2A state golf tournament. Panorama opens their season Monday, April 2, in a triangular meet against Ogden and Madrid at the Cedar Pointe Golf Course in Boone.
