Last Thursday the ACGC boys track and field team posted high marks and plenty of personal bests enroute to a 2nd place finish at the Davis Relays in Perry. Even with the strong start to the season, head coach Tyler Mosbach is more pleased with the athlete’s attitudes during the first official meet of the season.
Mosbach gives his overall observations from the relays in Perry. “Truthfully, when you go to a meet and it’s an early bird meet, you know you’re not going to have the best weather possible. It was cold. But coming out of that the thing that I was most happy about was just the attitude that the boys brought to the meet. There was no complaining about the cold. When people started seeing their times and started getting their ‘PRs,’ they were excited about their next event. When you can shut everything else out and just focus on getting better and scoring points, that’s really exciting.”
Several athletes recorded personal bests in their events, including senior Quenton Spack (100/200) and junior Noah Nelsen (800/3200).
