This weekend, the Perry High School Drama Department will bring to the stage their spring play, titled “The Dearly Undeparted.”

Director Randy Peterson says the play is a comedy about an old lady and her grandson who take part in a seance that goes wrong. Peterson explains how he arrived at the decision to produce this particular show. “I read probably 100 different plays before I make a selection here. This play was a really good play I thought, because it’s really funny, there’s a lot of like visual gags in it that I really like. And then it’s also got the right cast size, and the right run time, of course. A lot of things go into the selection of a play, but this one was a good example of that.”

Juniors Camden Studer and Madison Mason have lead roles in the play, and they told Raccoon Valley Radio why the public should come see it. Studer said, “It’ll be a good time. And it’s a funding for us, and it’s always a great way to support your school.” Mason adds, “If you want a family-friendly show, and something that you can just see and laugh at, this is definitely the play to come see. Especially because you just wanted to support the Drama Department. Because anything helps.”

“The Dearly Undeparted” will be performed this Friday and Saturday starting at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center.
