Iowa’s continued April cold spell has caused another spring sports postponement at Adel-Desoto-Minburn Community Schools. This evening forecasted record low temperatures forced the postponement of ADM’s round-robin boys soccer tournament against Des Moines East, Council Bluff St. Alberts, and Waverly-Shell Rock. ADM head boys soccer coach Bill Sheilds tells Raccoon Valley Radio they made the decision yesterday morning to allow Council Bluffs St Alberts and Waverly-Shell Rock time to cancel their hotel accommodations. The National Weather Service in Des Moines calls for overcast skies and temperatures in the mid teens tomorrow evening with wind chill values around 5 above zero. Sheilds adds there’s a chance of ADM salvaging games against Des Moines East and Council Bluffs St Alberts later this season. The Tigers opened the season with a 6-0 victory at ADM Stadium Monday against Raccoon River Conference member Carroll, recording 16 total shots on goal while allowing zero defensively. ADM resumes their boy’s soccer season Monday, traveling to Boone for a Raccoon River Conference match versus the Toreadors.
