Greene Co. 4-HA brand new program will be held for Greene County 4-H’ers.

Greene County Extension Youth and 4-H Coordinator Kayla Willms says there will be a Welding Workshop held at the Greene County High School Ag Shop on Saturday, April 14th. It will cover  welding basics and the class will be led by high school construction instructor Chad Morman, along with volunteers Matt Christensen and Issac Hoskins. Willms talks about why she wanted to start a welding workshop.

“We’re all about giving different opportunities. For example, welding is not something that every kid might have the opportunity to participate in. The hope is to get them interested enough to do our ‘Bucket of Junk’ contest which will happen later on. But we’re really excited to give those opportunities that are sometimes harder to find in certain areas.”

You must be a 4-H’er to participate. It will take place from 9 to 11am on April 14th. Cost to participate is $20 per person. All supplies will be available, however, if you have a welding mask and gloves, you may bring those to the workshop. Deadline to register is Monday, April 9th. Call 386-2138 or stop by the Extension office to sign up.
