**Tonights Raccoon River Conference boys soccer match between Boone and ADM at Boone High School has been postponed due to weather. A make up date has yet to be determined.**
Weather concerns cost the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers boys soccer team (1-0 overall; 1-0 RRC) their annual round-robin tournament this past weekend. The Tigers hope to resume regular season play tonight when ADM visits Boone for their annual Raccoon River Conference meeting. ADM topped Boone, 4-0, in their only match last season in Adel.
ADM will look to win their second straight game to begin the 2018 season tonight after tallying a 6-0 victory last Monday in their season opener versus the Carroll Tigers (0-2 overall; 0-2 RRC). Seniors Eli Schwarzkopf and Davis Barton accounted for two goals apiece, while Dakota Kahler and Herberto Ponce scored one each. The Tigers defense was equally good, allowing no shots on goal. Despite the shutout on the scoreboard, Barton tells Raccoon Valley Radio the Tigers can get better at spacing the field and executing their passes. “(We) have to be more crisp passing through the middle a lot better,” Bartons said, “Sometimes we play the ball too flat in the back and we need to work out widening out (our player spacing) and dropping back for each other.”
Boone opened their season on the wrong end of a 9-0 result versus the Winterset Huskies in Madison County last Thursday. The first road game of the season for the ADM boys soccer program is tonight when the Tigers visit the Boone Toreadors. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. from Boone High School.
