Last week, libraries across the country celebrated National Library Week. Panora, and Guthrie Center both held different events to celebrate.

On Monday the Panora Public Library forgave all overdue book fees as part of Amnesty Day. On Wednesday they had storytime, and had cookies and coffee on Friday. In Guthrie Center, the Mary J. Barnett Memorial Library showed the newly released “Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie” for the children’s afterschool movie.

While the Stuart Public Library didn’t have any particular events during the week, they bookended the celebration with a book sale last weekend. They will also be sponsoring a financial literacy series the last week this month.
