A Grand Junction woman was sentenced to probation for a November incident.
According to court documents, 56-year-old Cindy Jo Sheehy pled guilty to an amended charge of a serious misdemeanor for dependent adult abuse and fifth degree theft. She had her six-month prison sentence suspended for the serious misdemeanor and was placed on informal probation with the Greene County Sheriff’s office for one-year.
The charges stem from an incident on November 21st. Sheehy was working for Genesis Development when she stole two $50 Casey’s gift cards that were mailed to a client from one of the client’s relatives. Jefferson Police obtained video surveillance from a Casey’s General Store in Grand Junction that confirmed Sheehy was using the stolen cards.
Sheehy was originally charged with a felony for dependent adult abuse, an aggravated misdemeanor for unauthorized use of a credit card, along with the misdemeanor for fifth degree theft. In the plea agreement, the felony was amended to the serious misdemeanor. She was also ordered to pay fines, surcharges, victim restitution and court costs.
