It’s probably safe to say April snow is not a friend of Activities Directors at area schools. Mitch Moore is the A. D. for the Greene County Rams and he told Raccoon Valley Radio what it’s been like working around all the weather issues. “It’s been interesting. This is obviously my first year as an A.D., so this is the norm, it’s all I’ve ever known. But in talking with other A.D.’s, it’s been the worst scheduling Spring they can remember in recent history.”

Coach Moore said the Rams are better off than some, especially schools to the North, when it comes to getting competitions in. “I have to give a lot of credit to our coaching staff, the transportation department, and certainly Misty, our athletic department secretary, for scrambling and making things work.”

There’s track & field and soccer on the Greene County schedule for later today. The girls & boys track & field squads are scheduled for the Carroll Tiger-Knight Relays held in Denison at 4:30 p.m. due to renovations at Carroll Athletic Field. The Greene County girls and boys soccer teams meet fellow first year programs in Panorama at Panora later today. Coach Marilyn Tasler’s girls’ soccer team (0-2) plays for the first time in two weeks while Coach Carl Behne’s boys’ varsity soccer team is ranked 14th in Class 1A. This is a change from the original Ram schedules. The girls were to have gone to Harlan, but now it’s a girl/boy doubleheader in Panora.
