Perry Hometown Heritage is partnering with the Perry Volunteer Fire Department to present a special event tomorrow afternoon.
The public is invited to take a trip through 140 years of the fire department’s history with Brian Eiteman. Eiteman is the Assistant Fire Chief, Department Historian, and Curator of the Iowa Fire Museum. He also recently published a book on the history of firefighting, Perry’s old fire station, and Perry firefighters over the years. Eiteman will be at the Carnegie Library Museum tomorrow from 2-3 p.m. to share stories and photos from the book, as well as take attendees on a guided tour through the Iowa Fire Museum.
Autographed copies of the book will be available for purchase, with all proceeds supporting the museum. There is no cost to attend the event, and no registration is required. For more information, reach out to Alissa Whitmore with Hometown Heritage at 515-465-7713 or info@fcctrust.org.
