Main Street Guthrie Center (MSGC) is continuing to make preparations for the upcoming Smithsonian Museum exhibit, “Hometown Teams.” Part of those preparations require funds to help make the exhibit an impactful one for the whole community. With that in mind, MSGC will be hosting a “Jeopardy!” style trivia competition fundraiser next Saturday, April 28th.
The competition will be at 6:30pm at IncrediBowl in Guthrie Center. Cost to enter is $10 per person and teams can have up to four players. The winning team will walk away with $101 and bragging rights. To coincide with the exhibit, the questions will be sports themed and will include topics about Guthrie Center sports.
Smithsonian Exhibit Committee member Pat Sleister is hoping one group in particular will consider signing up. “I’m especially telling the Monteith City Council that they need to have a team. I think they all have some people that know something about sports. So I’m putting the challenge out there and I’m hoping that people will come and have a good time and donate a little money for the Smithsonian (exhibit).”
Contact GCMS to sign up for the event. The exhibit’s grand opening is Saturday, June 23rd at the Mary J. Barnett Memorial Library.
