A notice for Jefferson residents that next week will be the citywide spring cleanup week.
From April 23rd through the 26th, residents will be allowed two free hopper loads of material (with some prices for certain items) on your normal garbage pickup day. Any amounts beyond two hopper loads will be a $25 charge per hopper and will be billed to the property owner.
Items that can be picked up without a charge include: yard waste in 30-gallon biodegradable bags, tree trimmings and brush, scrap metal, furniture, carpet, padding, windows, construction debris and regular garbage. Those items that may incur a cost include: Appliances for $25 per appliance, appliances that contain freon for $40 per appliance and electronic waste. Items that won’t be picked up include: tires, waste oil, lead acid batteries and toxic items.
A reminder that no yard waste stickers are needed during the cleanup week. Items must also be placed in arm load piles at the curbside, otherwise, items may be left. All items should be at the curbside by 6am to ensure pick up.
