Several boys golf teams across central Iowa will descend on the Lake Panorama National Golf Course in Panora today for the inaugural Hal Rossow Invitational in honor of Panorama’s recently retired head coach. Golfers from AC/GC, Audubon, Coon Rapids-Bayard, Kuemper Catholic, Nevada, South Hamilton, and West Central Valley will take part in tournament formerly called the Panther Invitational. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network spoke to Rossow last week at Jester Park near Granger about this week’s upcoming golf tournament named in his honor. He says the gesture humbles him and says the original reason for hosting the Panorama Invitational was to showcase the Lake Panorama National Golf Course. “We got this great golf course in Lake Panorama National, we need to have a tournament,” Rossow said, “So, we did. We started the Panorama Invitational. I think two years after that, we hosted the (Iowa) State Class 1A Golf Tournament. We are very fortunate to have a beautiful golf course for the kids to play and practice on.”

Tee time for the Hal Rossow Invitational Golf tournament is 9 a.m. at the Lake Panorama National Golf Course in Panora. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network will look back at the Hal Rossow Invitational on this week’s Karl Chevrolet of Stuart Guthrie County PM Sports Page, Monday at 6 p.m. on True Country K 107.9.
