Coming up in the first weekend of May, the Dallas County Library Association and 4RKids will be hosting their fourth annual Toddler Fest.
Each public library from around Dallas County will be set up at the event to promote their individual summer reading programs. Additionally, there will be several businesses and organizations taking part to let attendees know the services they have to offer to families with young children. Perry Public Library Director Mary Murphy says Toddler Fest was originally organized to bring those businesses and organizations together in one place. Since then, however, it’s grown into a major event that helps kick off the summer, and attracts countless families from all corners of the County.
Attendees can look forward to meeting several zoo and farm animals, superheroes, and princesses, as well as take part in crafts, balloon creations, and other activities. If that weren’t enough, each child will receive a free book, while supplies last. Toddler Fest will run from 10 a.m. – noon on Saturday, May 5th at the Dallas County Fairgrounds in Adel, and Murphy offers a word of caution to potential attendees. “A lot of people come late. Don’t come late! You won’t get your free cookie, you won’t get your free book. It’s just a fun two hours to take your toddler and find out what services are available to children, and receive books, and have that experience that they may not ever have.”
