Greene County won the girls’ division of the 2018 Hawk Co-Ed Relays in Woodward hosted by Woodward-Granger on Tuesday night. The Rams were third on the boys’ side.

Coach Derek Merk’s Rams scored 137 points to 130.5 for Ogden. The hosts from W-G were third at 114 with 91 points for West Central Valley, 81.5 by Glidden-Ralston, 13 from Iowa Christian Academy (West Des Moines), and eight points from Woodward Academy.

W-G won the boys’ title with with 149 points. Ogden was at 123, Greene County 116, West Central Valley 114, G-R 41, Paton-Churdan 17, 16 from Grand View Christian (Des Moines), and eight points for the W-G junior varsity.

First place events for the Greene County girls were:

Megan Durbin high jump 5′ 6″; 200 meter dash :26.76.

Izzy Bravard 100 meter hurdles :18.41

4 x 100 meter relay :53.84 (Melanie Doran-Brianna Osterson-Lillian Muir- Durbin)

Distance medley relay 4:44.40 (Doran-Durbin-Osterson-Makala Kafer)

Brooklyn Olson discus throw 98′ 11″

First place events for the Greene County boys were:

Bryce Hoyle discus throw 123′ 10″

Colby Kafer 200 meter dash :23.87

Carter Morton 110 meter high hurdles :16.05, high jump 6′ 2″

4 x1 100 meter relay :46.19 (Morton-Lance Hughes-Tyler Teeples-Kafer)

Both Greene county teams recently added meets to their schedules. The boys go to Boone tomorrow (April 26) while the girls will travel to Greenfield for a meet at Nodaway Valley on May 7.
