The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.
The Board discussed the formation of a Jail Committee with Sheriff Marty Arganbright. The purpose of the committee would be to analyze a needs assessment currently being done on the jail, and to make recommendations based on that assessment. No formal action was taken on the committee, however Arganbright has fielded interest from a few citizens on being committee members. Arganbright also allowed the Supervisors to walk through the jail to get a better understanding of some of the challenges in the current facility.

Casey Library Director Charlsie Dougherty then addressed the Board on the County Comprehensive Plan. The current plan, which has not been updated since 2005, includes goals and benchmarks the County would like to achieve. Dougherty would like to implement some of those goals into her efforts with the Casey Comeback. Board Chair Everett Grasty expressed interest in coming up with a new plan and informed Dougherty it will come into shape after the County concludes updating the planning and zoning map. No formal action was taken as a result of the discussion.
Action items approved include: highway patching project contracts for a total cost of $349,112.04; library contracts for the upcoming fiscal year; a resolution formally authorizing a 28E Agreement for the Iowa Precinct Atlas Consortium; and various quarterly reports.
