The Greene County boys’ track & field team was fifth in a five team field on Thursday at Boone. Coach Chad Morton’s team scored 51 points, just one behind the 52 scored by Woodward-Granger. Boone won the event with 144 points with Webster City second with 114, and Ames next at 83.
The Rams had no first place finishes, but they were second twice. Sophomore Colby Kafer was second in the 200 meter dash in 23.60 seconds and sophomore Carter Morton was the runner-up in the 110 meter high hurdles in 15.67 seconds, a personal best time.
Next on the Greene County schedule is the May 1 Heart of Iowa Activities Conference meet, hosted at Linduska Field in Jefferson.
