A Winterset man recently pleaded guilty to felony drug possession in Greenfield.

According to the Adair County Sheriff’s Office, 35-year-old John Lemon of Winterset withdrew a plea of not guilty on Monday, April 16th. He instead pleaded guilty to a Class C felony charge for Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver. He is currently being held at the Adair County Jail in Greenfield on a $10,000 cash or surety bond.

The charge stems from a February 26th incident at Lemon’s former residence in Greenfield. In the incident report, Officer Jesse Lund of the Greenfield Police Department discovered the substance, two scales for measurement, and packaging in the residence. Lemon’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, May 29th.
