A Beaver man was recently sentenced to probation for a September incident.
According to court documents, 18-year-old James Lee Hoyle pled guilty to an amended charge of a serious misdemeanor for assault. He had his one-year prison sentence suspended and was placed on unsupervised probation for one-year.
The sentence stems from a September 3, 2017 incident. Jefferson Police Officers responded to a report of an assault in an apartment in the 300 block of North Wilson Avenue. Witness statements confirmed an assault had taken place, with the victim sent to the hospital with injuries.
Court documents show that the original charge was a Class D Felony for assault causing bodily injury.
