Now that we’re in the month of May, the children’s department of the Jefferson Public Library will host a pair of programs for youngsters under the age of seven.
Children’s Librarian Terry Clark says Just for Babies Lapsit Story Time and Ready Readers Story Time is starting back up on Wednesdays this month. The programs are now combined into one time period from 10 to 10:45am for their respective story times and 10:45 to 11:30am is the social time. Babies Lapsit is for newborns to 23-months and Ready Readers is for those two to six-year-olds. The programs include music, movement and other activities to get kids to learn how to read. Clark points out that the programs work better together.
“When we have parents that have children that fall into both of the age divisions, they can come and everyone can still participate which is really nice. It has worked well to do it together.”
Both programs are free and no pre-registration is required. A reminder for parents and guardians that children under the age of seven must be accompanied by an adult.
