Two West Central Activities Conference boys golf programs squared off Monday night at the Lake Panorama National Golf Course. Panorama welcomed West Central Valley to Panora’s well-known golf course for a league nine-hole event. Panorama won the team event with 181 strokes while West Central Valley scored 208. Panorama boys golf coach David Van Ahn told Raccoon Valley Radio that wind gusts during the round were more than 40 miles per hour at times. Sophomore Kolby Shackelford shot a one over 37 to earn meet medalist honors for the Panthers. Rounding out Panorama’s scoring was junior Dylan Douglas with a 46, and freshmen Ryan Klinge and Wyatt Appleseth tying for the team’s third-best individual score at 49. West Central Valley senior Garrett Caltrider was the meet’s runner-up medalist with a 45. Other results for West Central Valley include freshman Grant Caltrider with a 49, freshman Evan Taylor shooting a 56, and junior Devan Jones carding a 58. Both Panorama and West Central Valley boys golf teams will return to Lake Panorama National tomorrow for the annual 18-hole West Central Activities Conference meet teeing off at 9 a.m.
