McCreary Rec Center

The Perry Parks and Recreation Department has a couple programs coming in the summer, and signups are now open for those interested in participating.

The first is an adult sand volleyball league, which will start on Wednesday, May 30th. Deputy Parks and Rec Director Becky Halling says the league will be co-ed, and is open to people of any skill level. Games will start at 6 p.m., and it will cost $9 per team. You can register at the McCreary Community Building, and the cutoff for sign-ups is May 18th.

Additionally, registration is now open for the annual youth soccer camp. Halling says there are two age groups, one for kindergarten – 4th grade, and the other for 5th – 8th grade. The camps will go from June 12-16, with K-4th running 4-5 p.m., and 5th-8th from 5-6. Cost to participate is $15 for members, and $20 nonmembers, and registration is due by June 8th. Halling describes what the soccer camp will entail. “During that camp, they’ll just learn basic soccer skills, from kicking, to defending, to passing, along with multiple games and fun activities to do throughout. It’s just to kind of get the basic fundamentals down. And the kids just have a blast with it!”
