ADM Tigers

Before storms rolled through southwest Iowa Tuesday evening, the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers boys and girls golf teams were in Atlantic for the 18-hole Trojan Invitational. The boy’s field featured 14 squads, and the girls had golfers from 12 schools competing on the Atlantic Golf and Country Club.

The ADM boys golf team finished in fourth place in the final team standings with 306 points. Kuemper Catholic of Carroll won the 2018 Trojan Invitational with a low score of 298. Senior Micah Moyer carded the lowest score for ADM with a three over 73, placing fourth individually. Other ADM scoring golfers include junior Adam O’Connor with a 76, senior Matthew West recording a 78, and senior Grant Curran shooting a 79.

The ADM girls golf team placed 12th in the final standings with 472 points. The Tigers were without their top two scoring golfers senior Emily Neumann and junior Morgan Wagoner; Senior Alyssa Pingel carded ADM’s lowest score at 103. Rounding out the Tigers scoring is freshman Liv Rickert carding 116, junior Grace McElvain registering 122, and freshman Anna West scoring 131.

Weather permitting, the ADM girls golf team resumes their season today at the River Valley Golf Course in a nine-hole event versus Des Moines Hoover, Ogden, and Perry. The meet starts at 4 p.m. The ADM boys golf squad returns to competition Saturday morning in the annual Kuemper Catholic Invitational at the Carroll Country Club.
