To coincide with their “Discover Space” summer reading program, the Perry Public Library is embracing all things outer space, including their teen movie program.
Deputy Library Director Misty Von Behren says starting tomorrow and going through the coming months, she will be hosting viewings of the entire “Star Wars” franchise. Aptly beginning on “May the Fourth,” the program will allow teens and tweens the opportunity to watch the nine currently-released movies in the series. Von Behren describes the viewing schedule. “We’ll be having those throughout the summer beginning May 4th, on special Fridays throughout the month, depending on whether or not there’s a conflict. But generally it’s like three Fridays out of four Fridays a month, and we’ll go through all the Star Wars movies until we finish with ‘Rogue One.’”
The library will show the Star Wars movies in the large meeting room, starting at 4 p.m. The first five movies are rated PG, while the last four are each rated PG-13. There is no cost to attend, and the run times range between 124 and 151 minutes. See below for a list of dates for the Star Wars viewings.
