The Iowa High School Athletic Association has released boys’ soccer substate pairings and the first year Greene County program is in Class 1A Substate 1 with two nearby teams and five that are a long ways away. Second rated Gilbert and Kuemper Catholic (Carroll) are the teams close to Jefferson and both the Tigers and Knights own one goal victories over the Rams this season. The far away teams include MOC-Floyd Valley, Sioux Center, Unity Christian (Orange City), West Sioux (Hawarden), and Western Christian (Hull). One of those teams will advance to the State tournament.

As of West Sioux (0-5) and Unity Christian (2-6) are the only teams with losing records as of May 1. MOC-FV was 5-5 while Sioux Center was 4-3, Western Christian, Gilbert, and Kuemper, all at 6-3 and Greene County 8-5. Kuemper has also beaten Gilbert, but the Knights remain unranked.
