A pair of Raccoon Valley Radio area boys golf teams spent their Saturday at the Carroll Golf Club competing in the annual Kuemper Invitational. The Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers and the Panorama Panthers were among the 13 team field to compete in the yearly 18 hole tournament hosted by the Knights. Both squads finished in the top 10 in the final standings with ADM taking fourth place at 324 points and Panorama securing eighth with 341. Kuemper Catholic won their 2018 Invitational with a low score of 307.
Both ADM and Panorama had a golfer place in the top 10 individually among a field of 76. Tiger senior Micah Moyer shot a four over 75, the fifth lowest score recorded. Panther sophomore Kolby Shackelford finished one shot behind Moyer for sixth place. Other ADM scoring golfers included junior Adam O’Connor carding a 78, senior Grant Curran scoring an 85, and senior Matthew West registering an 86. Panorama’s scoring golfers featured junior Dylan Douglass scoring an 86, freshman Ryan Klinge carding 89, and junior Jacob Iseminger shooting 90.
Both ADM and Panorama return to competition in their respective conference tournaments early this week. The Tigers will host the Raccoon River Conference tournament today at the River Valley Golf Course in Adel with a shotgun start around 9 a.m. Panorama will host the rescheduled West Central Activities Conference meet tomorrow morning around 9 a.m. from the Lake Panorama National Golf Course in Panora.
